The increasing number of geohazard events over recent decades is demanding state-of-the-art, real-time, scientific, and practical strategies to mitigate their social and environmental impacts. Principally, geofluids play a significant role in geohazards in many aspects, such as water infiltration, precipitation, seepage, unsaturated behavior, freezing/thawing, weathering, strength softening, and liquefaction.
Geohazard activities have become more frequent and disruptive in recent decades with changing climates becoming the new normal. To proper disclose the role of geofluids in geohazards and for the purpose of forecasting, emergency response, protecting inhabitants affected by geohazards, and disaster mitigation, a thorough understanding of the scientific background and driving force is essential.
This special issue intends to provide a platform for researchers to highlight the influence of geofluids on all aspects of geohazards. The special issue stresses on scientific issues associated with geohazard activities concerning the mechanisms and interplay of geofluids scientific strategies, driving force, dynamic processes, and progress in geohazards.
We invite authors to submit original research papers as well as review articles to advance the understanding of the role and impact of geofluids in geohazards.
