Involvement of COX-2 in the upregulation of MMP-9 by TNF-α and LPS. (a) Western blotting revealed expression of COX-2 and MMP-9 was increased in BxPC-3 after treatment with exogenous TNF-α or LPS. (b) COX-2 mRNA expression was upregulated by TNF-α or LPS (*𝑃<0.01, resp., versus control). NS398 had no effect on the upregulation. (c) MMP-9 mRNA expression was upregulated by TNF-α or LPS (*𝑃<0.01, resp., versus control). The upregulation was significantly inhibited by NS398. Data are expressed as mean ± SD, 𝑛=3. NS: NS398.
