Half-life of gastric emptying. The influence of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) and fatty acid ingestion on the half-life (HLF) of gastric emptying. Participants received a capsule with either 5-HTP or placebo (Pl). Additionally they ingested a standard meal supplemented with 100 μL 13C octanoid acid and either butter (Bu) or olive oil (Oil). A breath test sample was taken every 15 min over the next 4 hours. The data is presented as means SE of the HLF of gastric emptying.
