Tetracycline Effects on Candida Albicans Virulence Factors

Photomicrographs of Candida albicans (Strain GT142) grown overnight at 37°C in YNB or YNB plus tetracycline (5  g/mL). The yeast tended toward germination and filamentation in YNB, and tetracycline did not inhibit this tendency. Images are representative of many fields that indicate filamentous growth in the presence of tetracycline that is augmented and fungal masses appear larger than in control (YNB) cultures.
