Effect of Methyl Jasmonate on Phytoalexins Biosynthesis and Induced Disease Resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Vasinfectum in Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Figure 1

HPLC profile of phenols from leaves extract of Gossypium hirsutum treated with methyl jasmonate (MeJA). Detection is shown at 284 nm. Peaks were identified by comparison with reference standards when available or by HNMR data (retention time). (1) Gossypol (4.237 min); (2) caffeoyl-D-glucose (12.770 min); (3) catechin (13.597 min); (4) 3-p-coumaroylquinic acid (17.895 min); (5) ferulic acid (18.524 min); (6) gossypetin (19.704); (7) chlorogenic acid (20.995 min); (8) piceatannol (21.545 min); (9) trans-resveratrol (26.993 min); (10) pterostilbene (28.344 min); (11) cichoric acid (34.083 min). (a) No-MeJA treated plants. (b) Plants treated with MeJA 5.0 mM.
