Promising High-Yielding Tetraploid Plantain-Bred Hybrids in West Africa

Bunch harvest (t·ha−1) of medium-sized tetraploid plantain hybrids FHIA 21 and PITA 3 along with giant false horn plantain “Big Ebanga” at advanced yield trial using 3 replications at a plant density of 3 m × 2 m in Benin. The average yield of plantain on family farms in this country remains very low: from 4 to 7 t·ha−1.
