Effects of addition of glycine on the change of various parameters in the wastewater during incubation with the active sludge in the plastic tank. 50 L of the wastewater was treated as described in Section 2.1, and 3 g of glycine was added at the start of the incubation. (a) Concentrations of protein () and amino acid () were measured according to the description in Section 2.4.2. (b)NH4+ concentration () and pH () were measured according to the methods described in Section 2.4.2. The experiment using cold glycine was done three times as mentioned in Figure 1, and the experiment of the addition of 15N-glycine was done one time.
