Method for Rapid Labeling of Waste Sludge from a Food Factory with 15N-Glycine and Evaluation of N Use Using Komatsuna (Brassica rapa Var. perviridis)

Figure 7

The concentrations of 15N () and the total amount of N () in the whole plant of komatsuna cultured in the 15N-SF-PMM-100 treatment in 5-week experiment. An accumulation of 15N from the 15N-SF-PMM into komatsuna was briefly assessed (for the details, see Section 2.4.4). Komatsuna was cultured in the 15N-SF-PMM-100 treatment in 5-week experiment. In week 5, the two plants were harvested and lyophilized. The lyophilized samples were pulverized, and the aliquots were subjected to 15N determination with a 15N analyzer. White column: average of the amount of 15N incorporated into a plant. Black column: the amount of total N in a plant. Two plants were used to calculate the average. See for details, Section 2.4.3.
