Oxidative/nitrative stress biomarkers in plasma (a) and brain cortex and hippocampus (b). Lipid peroxidation (TBARS) (nmol MDA/mg protein), protein oxidation (PCs) (nmol MDA/mg protein), and concentration of nitrites and nitrates ([NOx]) (μmol/mg protein) were determined in plasma and brain cortex and hippocampus following the procedures described in described in Material and Methods Section.
