Arbitrary position P on the cylindrical surface can be characterized by its corresponding central angle α formed between + x axis and OP. At position P, its angle of incidence θi is formed between the local outward-pointing normal n and the incident wave vector k. The angular interval between adjacent sampling positions is denoted as δ.
