In Vitro Growth Inhibition, Caspase-Dependent Apoptosis, and S and G2/M Phase Arrest in Breast Cancer Cells Induced by Fluorine-Incorporated Gold I Compound, Ph3PAu[SC(OMe)=NC6H4F-3]

Figure 5

MUSE Annexin V and dead cell assay for detecting apoptosis induction. MDA-MB-231 (a) and MCF-7 (b) cells were treated for 24 h with the respective IC50 dose of the novel gold-based compound 3F1 or cisplatin (CDDP) for the positive control samples or with 0.1% DMSO for the negative controls. The representative scattered plot showed early apoptotic cells and late apoptotic cells in the lower and upper right quadrants. In contrast, live cells and necrotic cells were detected in the lower and upper left quadrant, respectively. Percentage of apoptotic cells (c) represented as the of three independent experiments. Statistical significance was analyzed by two-way ANOVA and a post hoc Tukey’s multiple comparison test. was considered significantly different.
