The relationship between 5-FU Target and Toxic-Therapeutic ratio proceeds throughout the day indicating time of day association with low tumor thymidylate synthase activity are concurrent with times of day of the greatest anticancer activity. Times of low thymidylate synthase in bone marrow and gut cell are those same times of day associated with the greatest gut damage and bone marrow damage. Toxic-therapeutic ratio is maximum at times of day of relatively low tumor thymidylate synthase activity and relatively high bone marrow and gut TSA.
