Image Processing Algorithms and Measures for the Analysis of Biomedical Imaging Systems Applications
Description
Biomedical imaging has emerged as an essential technology for improving the quality of medical diagnosis and treatments of many illnesses as well as many neurological and psychological disorders. We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to develop and utilize concepts, models, tools of image, and pattern analysis across multiple modalities and disciplines. The goal of the special issue is to improve the analysis and evaluation of biomedical diagnosis and treatments, using qualitative image measures as well as enhancement algorithms for biomedical image processing.
Scientists and engineers in this field work towards such advances in mathematical, statistical, and computational imaging applied to computer-aided detection, diagnosis, grading and prognosis, image-guided therapy and surgery, drug delivery, medical image security, and privacy protection.
All kinds of images (gray-tone, color, multispectral, and hyperspectral images) and imaging modalities (optical imaging, MR imaging, X-ray imaging, nuclear imaging, MR imaging, US imaging, and PET imaging) are potentially concerned. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Image reconstruction and data visualization
- Image fusion of multiple modalities
- Image retrieval and data mining
- Image and pattern processing and analysis
- Image restoration and segmentation
- Image registration and storage
- Image and pattern representation and modeling
- Mathematical, statistical, and computational Imaging
- Human vision-based approaches
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijbi/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijbi/ipa/ according to the following timetable:
