The N-Terminal Domain of Y-Box Binding Protein-1 Induces Cell Cycle Arrest in G2/M Phase by Binding to Cyclin D1

Internalization of YB-1 fusion proteins results in cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase. Rat hepatoma cells incubated with each of the fusion proteins were stained with propidium iodide and subjected to FACS analysis (a). Three independent experiments were performed for statistical analysis and all the values (per cent of cells) reported are absolute to 𝑃 < . 0 0 1 . Panel B shows the percentage of cells that have taken up the fusion protein as quantified by FACS analysis. This indicates that there is no difference in the extent of protein uptake by cells incubated with the fusion proteins.
