CD47 analysis. (a) Histogram representing flow cytometry evaluations of CD47. The numbers represent the mean ± SD of 40 HD (22 male and 18 female) and 56 MetS patients (31 male and 25 female). No changes, in terms of CD47 expression, were detectable in RBCs from MetS patients with respect to those from healthy donors. Conversely, a significant (°P < 0.05) decrease of this protein was evident in RBCs from men with MetS versus healthy male donors.
