Effect of protein kinase inhibitors and antioxidant on ZnPP-activation of StRE3 element of human HO-1 promoter in PC-3 cells. PC-3 cells were transfected with StRE3-pGL3 luciferase reporter plasmid, pretreated with 3 μM SB203580, 5 μM LY294002, 10 μM U0126, 3 μM SP600125, 500 μM NAC, 10 μM IPA-3, 2 μM rottlerin, 5 μM Ro 31-8220, or 5 μM Ro 32-0432 for 2 h, and then treated with 10 μM ZnPP for 24 h, and luciferase activities were determined as described in Section 2. Results were expressed as “relative luciferase activity (ratio of activities of firefly luciferase/renilla luciferase)” (.). ; * compared with the untreated control.
