Effects of Chewing Different Flavored Gums on Salivary Flow Rate and pH

The changes in mean salivary flow rate (SFR) over 6 min after the start of one pellet of cinnamon-, strawberry-, spearmint-, watermelon, or apple-flavored chewing gum compared with unstimulated SFR. The mean (SD) of SFR before and 0-1, 1–3 and 3–6 min after the start of different flavored chewing gums is shown (also see Figure 1).
