Comparison of IL-1β plasma levels in patients with CP (), T1DM + CP (), and T2DM + CP (). CP = chronic periodontitis, T1DM = type 1 diabetes mellitus, T2DM = type 2 diabetes mellitus. For samples with values of IL-1β under detection limit (<2.58 pg/mL) were assigned a value of 2.57 pg/mL. For exclusion of outlier values, three CP and one T1DM + CP samples were used in Grubb’s test (). The Mann–Whitney U test (two-tail) was used to calculate significant differences.
