The in vitro drug release profile of the three antibiotics from PPCMs over 21 days. The cumulative drug-release concentration of the antibiotics in “Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS)” is expressed in µg/mL. As it can be seen in the profile, ciprofloxacin and metronidazole had a burst release in the first 4 days but reached a relative plateau on the other days.
