In brief, the increase in serum preptin and leptin levels is in a positive correlation with BMI. However, a fluctuation was observed in nesfatin-1 levels in such a way that nesfatin-1 levels increased in individuals with a BMI of up to 30 kg/m2 but decreased in obese (Group IV) and morbidly obese (Group V) individuals. Desacylated ghrelin dropped in all groups with increasing BMI that is, desacylated ghrelin is inversely correlated with BMI, while acylated ghrelin fluctuated. |
