Serum 25-OH Vitamin D in relation to Bone Mineral Density and Bone Turnover

Mean (±SE) PTH by 25OHD subgroups. The graph shows subject PTH serum levels according to serum 25OHD subgroups defined by specific cutoffs. No clear inflection point was evident for the 25OHD cutoffs studies. However, there was a 34% increase in PTH levels ( versus  pg/mL; ) when comparing the two subgroups delineated by the 25OHD cutoff of 25 ng/mL. PTH levels did not change significantly differently when comparing the subgroups delineated by the 25OHD levels of 20 ng/mL ( versus  pg/mL; ), 30 ng/mL ( versus  pg/mL; ), 35 ng/mL ( versus  pg/mL; ), or 40 ng/mL ( versus  pg/mL; ), respectively.
