Relationship between the Prevalence of Thyroid Nodules and Metabolic Syndrome in the Iodine-Adequate Area of Hangzhou, China: A Cross-Sectional and Cohort Study

Table 3

Univariate binary logistic regression analysis: dependent variable is thyroid nodule in 2012, and independent variables are the status of the metabolic components, Mets, HOMA-IR, and Insulin in 2009. (Method: Enter).

All of the metabolic components in 2009 were transferred into qualitative data according to the IDF criteria; MetS was defined according to the IDF criteria as well. All independent variables were adjusted by age and sex. Hypertension lost statistical significance () in multivariate binary logistic regression analysis when hypertension and WC were taken as independent variables.
TG: triglyceride; HDL: high density lipoprotein; WC: waist circumference; HOMA-IR: homeostasis model assessment (HOMA) index for insulin resistance; MetS: metabolic syndrome.
