Table 2

HEDIS-like assessment of T2DM care, based upon the HEDIS “comprehensive diabetes care” measure, among T2DM patients in Dubai followed up for a complete calendar year and therefore eligible for the HEDIS measure.

CDC = comprehensive diabetes care; dL = decilitre; HbA1c = glycosylated hemoglobin A1c; HEDIS = Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set; LDL = low-density lipoprotein; mmHg = millimetres of mercury; mg = milligram; = number; T2DM = type 2 diabetes mellitus; US = United States; P90 = 90th percentile; P10 = 10th percentile; HMO = Health maintenance organization.
HEDIS scores are typically calculated for each calendar year. For this HEDIS-like assessment, scores were calculated for the 12 months following the last date of the study accrual period (April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2011).
For this measure, a lower rate signifies better performance.
