HE and immunohistochemistry staining of heterotypic pseudoislet grafts. (a) Heterotypic PIs mixed with graphite were injected subcutaneously into the back of STZ diabetic nude mice (). The injection site was close to the dorsal artery. Four STZ diabetic mice with graphite marker were only used in histological examination and they were not be used in the previous experiments due to graphite markers. (b) Paraffin sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin at day 5. (c, d) INS-1 cells and NG108-15 cells were characterized by staining with insulin and β-III tubulin in serial sections. (b, c, and d) Scale bars represent 100 μm.
