Changes of CKD-MBD-related markers accompanying decline of renal function. FEP and FGF23 levels show correlated elevation from the early to middle stages of CKD, with a subsequent decrease of 1,25(OH)2D3 and increase of PTH. When FEP cannot respond to the high level of FGF23 in end-stage CKD, the P and Ca levels start to elevate and decline, respectively.
