Galectin-3 Inhibitors Suppress Anoikis Resistance and Invasive Capacity in Thyroid Cancer Cells

<div>Effects of galectin-3 inhibitors (GB1107 and TD139) on cell growth and invasion in the human thyroid follicular epithelial cell line Nthy-ori 3-1. (a) Protein expression of galectin-3 in thyroid cancer cell lines (FTC-133 and 8505C) and Nthy-ori 3-1. (b) Nthy-ori 3-1 cells were treated with GB1107 or TD139 of the indicated concentrations for 24 to 72 h and cell viability was determined using Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. OD: optical density value at 450 nm. (c) Nthy-ori 3-1 cells invading through Matrigel-coated Transwell chambers with or without 24-h GB1107 and TD139 treatment were fixed and quantified.
