Measurement positions in gaps and under the canopy (north of gaps) for (a) small ( ratio ≤ 0.5), (b) medium ( ratio ), and (c) large ( ratio ≥ 1.5) sized gaps. The average diameter of the five gaps evaluated for each category is presented to give a reference to the distance between measurement positions.
