CMP gather 5690 is an example for the AVO effect of the BSR. The black lines indicate the cutoffs for NMO stretch mute values of 30% and 100%. A late cutoff (NMO stretch mute 100%) includes far offsets and therefore stronger BSR amplitudes after CMP stacking. The upper box shows the absolute values of the amplitudes for the seafloor reflection (red dots) and for the BSR (blue dots).
