Model contingency table for explaining the relationship between potential conditions for/against the occurrence of physical events such as large inland earthquakes and their actual occurrence. The relation can be classified into the following four elements: a: the number of “yes” warnings accompanied by the occurrence of events, b: the number of “yes” warnings not accompanied by the occurrence of events, c: the number of “no” warnings accompanied by the occurrence of events, d: the number of “no” warnings not accompanied by the occurrence of events.
