Protective Role of the ACE2/Ang-(1–9) Axis in Cardiovascular Remodeling
Plasma levels of Ang-(1–7), Ang-(1–9) and Ang II in rats with myocardial infarction treated with the ACE inhibitor enalapril (8 weeks). Increased plasma levels of Ang-(1–9) were observed in rats with myocardial infarction treated with the ACE inhibitor enalapril. Myocardial infarction was induced by coronary artery ligation. Data are presented as mean ± SEM (/group). AMI: acute myocardial infarction, E: enalapril. * compared to both Sham and untreated myocardial infarction groups; ** compared to both Sham and enalapril-treated myocardial infarction groups.
