Quantification of Power Losses of the Interdigitated Metallization of Crystalline Silicon Thin-Film Solar Cells on Glass

Figure 6

Total fractional (simulated) power loss for an optimized interdigitated thin-film solar cell on glass, as a function of total cell size. The cell dimensions for each cell area datum have also been optimized. A constant minimum emitter finger width of 15 μm, maximum power point current density of 25 mA/cm2, an open-circuit voltage of 400 mV, and an emitter layer sheet resistivity of 400 Ω/□ have been assumed for this example.
