Load and displacement of the representative sample shown in Figure 1 were recorded during compression. The stress-strain curve was then plotted and compressive modulus was calculated as the slope of the initial linear portion of the stress-strain curve, beginning at 1.0% strain. The highest strength achieved was the ultimate strength.
