Sulfated Alkyl Glucopyranans with Potent Antiviral Activity Synthesized by Ring-Opening Copolymerization of Anhydroglucose and Alkyl Anhydroglucose Monomers

SPR binding affinity of (a) sulfated (16)-α-D-glucopyranan with 3-O-octadecyl groups in the proportion of 2.8 mol% and with and (b) dextran sulfate with to poly-L-lysine, respectively. The apparent kinetic constants were 1/Ms, 1/s, and M for sulfated 3-O-octadecyl (16)-α-D-glucopyranan (a) and 1/Ms, 1/s, and M for standard dextran sulfate.
