The inhibition zones of chitosan (CS) and O-acetyl-chitosan acetic ester (ACHA) in 1% acetic acid aqueous solution. (a) Pseudomonas aeruginosa; (b) Escherichia coli; (c) Staphylococcus aureus. (1) The filter paper immersed in 1% (w/v) acetic acid aqueous solution. (2) The filter paper immersed in 1% (w/v) ACHA aqueous solution (obtained from dissolving 1 g ACHA in 100 mL 1% acetic acid aqueous solution). (3) The filter paper immersed in 1% (w/v) CS aqueous solution (obtained from dissolving 1 g CS in 100 mL 1% acetic acid aqueous solution).
