Antiskin Cancer and Antioxidant Activities of Formulated Agar from Brown Seaweed Laminaria digitata (Hudson) in Dimethyl Benzanthracene-Induced Swiss Albino Mice

Table 1

Experimental design.

Group 1Normal control mice (normal diet and water)

Group 2Cancer-induced mice (100 nM DMBA dissolved in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice for four weeks)

Group 3FA (low dose)—60 mg/ml in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice for four weeks, 30 min before DMBA exposure (100 nM DMBA dissolved in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice)

Group 4FA (high dose)—120 mg/ml in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice for four weeks, 30 min before DMBA exposure (100 nM DMBA dissolved in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice)

Group 5Positive control: 5-FU-100 mg/ml in 100 ml acetone was applied topically weekly twice for four weeks, 30 min before DMBA exposure (100 nM DMBA dissolved in 200 μl acetone was applied topically weekly twice)
