Segmental arterial mediolysis injurious phase. The artery show areas of mediolysis ranging in sites from the outer half to the transmural involvement of the media. Mediolytic foci contain cytoplasmic and membranous debris, scattered viable muscle cells, newly forming capillaries, and red cells. A thick linear layer of fibrin coats the adventitia.
