Second-order tensor field features and surface plots of the functions whose critical points identify them. From top to bottom, the functions are trace of helicity, divergence of the Lamb vector, trace of irrotational component, and trace of solenoidal component. The irrotational and solenoidal parts are computed from the generalized Helmholtz decomposition.
