Applications of Fixed Point and Approximate Algorithms

Description

As very powerful and important tools in the study of nonlinear sciences, fixed point methods have attracted so much attention. Over the last decades, fixed point techniques have been applied extensively in such diverse fields as biology, chemistry, economics, engineering, game theory, physics, and so on. The thorough study of the fixed point theory and its approach methods contained in the literature will help us to find new fixed point techniques for solving the practical problems.

The aim of this special issue is to present and extend the applications of the relatively new approaches and theories for the fixed point problems arising in mathematics and applied sciences.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts in fixed point methods and related theories. The special issue will provide a forum for researches and scientists to communicate their recent developments and to present their novel results on applied sciences involving fixed point methods. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New developments in fixed point theory as well as in related analytical methods
  • Iterative methods for the fixed points of the nonexpansive-type mappings or the nonexpansive semigroup
  • Fixed point methods for the variational inequalities and applications
  • Fixed point methods for the equilibrium problems and applications
  • Iterative methods for the split feasibility problems and its applications
  • Iterative methods for the hierarchical optimization problems and applications
  • Methods for the global continuation of fixed point curves in engineering problems
