Alsterpaullone, a Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor, Mediated Toxicity in HeLa Cells through Apoptosis-Inducing Effect

Western blot analysis of apoptotic related proteins in HeLa cells treated with alsterpaullone. HeLa cells were cultured with 20 μM alsterpaullone. Cells were then lysed and protein extracted. The proteins (50 μg) were then subjected to SDS-PAGE immunoblot analysis with the use of antibodies specific for α-tubulin, survivin, Mcl-1, PARP, pRB, Bcl-2, and Caspase-3. Cells were also exposed to 0.3% DMSO and showed stable basal levels of the various proteins at the different time points.
