Extension of Chronological Lifespan by Hexokinase Mutation in <i>Kluyveromyces lactis</i> Involves Increased Level of the Mitochondrial Chaperonin Hsp60

<table>Evaluation of gene dosage of <i>RAG5</i> in determining the lifespan. Comparison of chronological survival in YNB medium of wt and mutant lacking <i>RAG5</i> and the same strain overexpressing <i>RAG5</i>. Survival was assessed in minimal medium for plasmid maintenance. Over time, aliquots of cultures were counted and serial dilutions were plated on solid medium. Colony forming units were counted after 3 days. Data are representative of five independent experiments, mean ± s.d.</table>
