Reagents and conditions: (i) DMS/Acetone, K₂CO₃, 70°C/6 h, (ii) DMF/POCl₃, 0°C/1 h, (iii) NH₂NH₂·H₂O/KOH, ethylene glycol, 80–90°C for 2 h followed by heating at 130 to 140°C for 2 h, (iv) CH₃COCl/AlCl₃, MDC. 0°C/2 h.
