Current Uses of Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) in the Dental Field: A Comprehensive Review
Figure 1
PLGA, poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid), synthesis and degradation. The main reaction used to obtain PLGA is ring opening polymerization and polycondensation of lactic and glycolic acids. Most important mechanisms of PLGA degradation involve hydrolysis, oxidation, and enzymatic degradation.
