Ultrasound-Assisted, Base-Catalyzed, Homogeneous Reaction for Ferulic Acid Production from γ-Oryzanol

Behavior of ethyl ferulate produced as an intermediate under hydrolysis of γ-oryzanol by the heating method and ultrasonic irradiation of 20 kHz and 200 kHz with power of 50 W at 50°C. Reaction conditions: initial concentration of γ-oryzanol of 6 mg/mL, KO ratio of 20 : 1 (wt/wt), and homogeneous system of Type A (ethyl acetate/H2O/ethanol) (A20).
