A Synthetic Pan-Aurora Kinase Inhibitor, 5-Methoxy-2-(2-methoxynaphthalen-1-yl)-4H-chromen-4-one, Triggers Reactive Oxygen Species-Mediated Apoptosis in HCT116 Colon Cancer Cells

<div>Effect of DK1913 on the activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway in HCT116 cells. HCT116 cells were treated with 5 <i>μ</i>M DK1913 for different time periods. Cell lysates were subjected to immunoblotting using antibodies against ER stress response proteins. Arrowhead: spliced form of XBP1 (sXBP1); GAPDH: internal control. Band intensities of each blot were measured using ImageJ software and expressed relative to the basal control band (set to 1) after normalization with GAPDH levels. The data are expressed as means ± SD (<i>n</i> = 3).
