H&E staining of control skin of the rat (a) showed 3–4 layers of keratinized stratified squamous cells with normally appearing keratin layer epidermis (Ep). Formalin exposed rat skin (b) showed thickened degenerated epidermis (Ep) and inflammatory cells infiltrate (+), and LUL-NEG (c) exposed rat skin revealed no abnormal changes in the treated rat skin tissue as compared to controls (400x).
