Diabetes Alters Contraction-Induced Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase Activation in the Rat Soleus and Plantaris
Figure 3
Effects of concentric, maximal muscle
contraction in situ on phosphorylation of p38-MAPK. The basal (control) and contraction-induced
phosphorylation of the Jnk in plantaris and soleus muscles from lean (LNZ) and obese
Zucker (OSXZ) rats at 0, 1, and 3 hours after HFES. Phosphorylation
of p38-MAPK was determined by immunodetection of phosphorylation on Thr180 and
Tyr182 (phospho-p38 α MAPK). An asterisk (*) indicates significant difference ()
from the control time point within animal model, and a cross (†)
indicates significant difference () at corresponding time
points across animal models.
