Rosiglitazone Prevents High Glucose-Induced Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor and Collagen IV Expression in Cultured Mesangial Cells
Rosiglitazone prevented high glucose-induced collagen IV expression . Mesangial cells were exposed to 5.6 mM (NG) or 25 mM (HG) for up to 48 hours pretreated with 10 M rosiglitazone (RSG) for 1 hour. (a) The expression of collagen IV (1) mRNA was detected by real-time RT-PCR (, versus NG). (b) Representative confocal microscopic images show collagen IV staining without (C) or with RSG. Immunofluorescence intensity per cell was analyzed ( cells, versus NG). Magnification bar = 25 M.
