Glibenclamide Induces Collagen IV Catabolism in High Glucose-Stimulated Mesangial Cells

Total intracellular cAMP-dependent PKA phosphorylating activity in rat mesangial cell lysates after chronic exposure (8 weeks) to high glucose with and without treatment with glibenclamide. Determinations were done under basal conditions and after 60 minutes treatment with 20 μM of cAMP. Results are the difference between total phosphorylating activity and the phosphorylating activity in duplicate samples analyzed in the presence of 10 μM peptide inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKI). 𝑛 = 7 per experimental group.
