Absence of differences in the number of MMP-2 and MMP-9-positive cells between control and diabetic groups. After 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of diabetes induction, histological sections of periodontal tissues were submitted to immunohistochemical analyses for MMP-2 (a) and MMP-9 (b).
