mRNA expression of renal cortical 𝛼_1A-, 𝛼_1B-, and 𝛼_1D-AR subtypes was measured by quantitative real-time PCR in 22-week-old Zucker lean (ZL), vehicle-treated Zucker diabetic (ZD), and fenofibrate-treated Zucker diabetic (F-ZD) rats. Fold changes of 𝛼_1A- (a), 𝛼_1B- (b), and 𝛼_1D- (c) AR genes were calculated using 𝛽-actin as an internal control.
